Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve



Friday from 1:30 – 4:30 pm 

Starting on Friday, April 17th and finishing on Friday, June 26th 2020, the Spring Homeschool Program will run for 11 weeks and cost $300 per student. 

Ages 5 – 14 – Two age groups will be formed so there will be an older group and a younger group. Each group will have 1.25 hours of wildlife art (which often includes some outdoor exploration and opportunities for connecting with nature via sketching) and 1.25 hours of environmental education with a 15 minute snack break.

Wildlife Art

This is an intensely fun program for artists of all levels. Our engaging instructor will provide individual mentoring and support as students move forward at their own pace. All materials, including art canvases are provided, and multiple mediums will be explored.


Environmental Education

This hands on environmental education program introduces and connects students to the natural world. Participants will enjoy learning through environmental games, hands on science activities and outdoor explorations.  This is a science based nature experience.  Possible spring topics may include: Plants, Pollinators, Ecological Principals, Geology, Song Birds, Nocturnal Critters, Reptiles & Amphibians Life-cycles, Wildlife Observation, Herons, Beavers, Insects and Spiders, Pond Exploration, and Eco-Games.
